GOTTESWEIBCHEN shout out!

This is to all my G's (Joe suggested that abbreviation...'cause "it sounds Gangsta") Just wanted give y'all a shoutout on your girls weekend! Wish so much that I could be there. But, I have important things to do. Like sit by my scrapbook with a box of tissues, with Come on Eileen playing mournfully in the background.

Let's try to webcam it tomorrow. BA, when are you done with your school stuff tomorrow? I'll try givin' y'all a call your Sat night.

And here are a couple more!

Ask and you shall receive

You asked for baby bump pictures, you got baby bump pictures. These were taken by my badass friend, Meredith. She just signed on to be photographer numero uno for The Studio, this crazy popular photography studio here on the island. So when she asked me and another friend if we'd like to join her on a practice photo shoot to try out some ideas, what else could we say but, but "hell yeah".

Here are some of the pictures taken off Gate 2 Street near Kadena Air Base. The bump's not too visible yet, but I thought they were pretty cool.

Baby Time

I've been soaking up the baby knowledge this week. What to expect. What to buy. What (not) to worry about. What (to) worry about. And I'm realizing just how many moms I know. I'm joining a club! With about 9 months of initiation.

I like the club. It's full of good people. And I like hearing their stories. About the blessings of baby wipe warmers. The God-send that is colic pills, or "miracle blankets", pack and plays, belly bands, lactation specialists, and more and more. About the hell that is learning to nurse. About staying home with the baby or going back to work. About feeling the baby move for the first time. Everybody's got a story to share, folks with babies, folks without kids - I love them all.

Keep 'em coming. I must catalogue them all. Only 4 more months before I'll need to flip back through them and put them to use!
